    Welcome to Fine Arts!

    A little about your teacher:

This begins my 22nd year in education and 13th year at West/Magee with Calallen ISD! I graduated from the university that was formerly known as Southwest Texas State Univeristy (Texas State University) in December 1996. I am a high school alumni of Belton High School in Belton, Texas.

In the fall of 1996, I was given an amazing opportunity to complete my student teaching in Auckland, New Zealand. I lived with a NZ family, taught at Takapuna Primary, Year 10-11 which is equivalent to 4th and 5th grade and traveled the beautiful north & south islands. NZ is a beautiful and diverse country. It is very simialar to south Texas with close access to the beautiful beaches, green farmland, and diverse schools where a variety of cultures are represented.

I am very passionate about the ARTS! Music, Art & Drama will be highlighted in the Fine Arts this year. You can also find me assisting Coach Ortiz in PE throughout the year!

A few of my favorite things include... painting, the beach, playing the cello & classical music, my sweet boys (a 7th grader & 5th grader) who are both Calallen Wildcats, reading & writing poetry and helping students make connections between core academic subjects & the Arts!   ***I also love listening to my son play the saxophone in the  CMS band!

    • My dream as an educator is to inspire students to become PASSIONATE life long learners by expanding their knowledge and tapping into their CREATIVITY by way of the ARTS!
