BIO
I have been married for 27 years, and I am the mom to 2 sons. I grew up in northeast Texas, go Gilmer Buckeyes, but moved to Corpus Christi in 2011 for my husband's job. Our family has been very happy since the move and are proud to identify as south Texans and Calallen Wildcats.
I began my professional career after graduating from Texas A&M University in College Station, Whoop, in 1993 and completing a post-graduate dietetics internship at SFA State University in 1995. I worked for 15 years as a clinical dietitian in the hospital setting. I enjoyed working in hospitals, educating patients and their families, and being a part of the patient's healthcare team. In 2016, I decided that I would like to become a science teacher. I attended the Educator Preparation Program through the Education Service Center Region 2 in 2017 to attain a certificate for teaching and I completed the program with a teaching internship at Bishop CISD in 2018. I hold a composite certificate for science and I have the great fortune to teach chemistry, the science discipline I love. The 2024-2025 school year will be my seventh year at Calallen High School. Both of my children graduated from CHS so I fully understand the high expectations of Calallen ISD and I plan for my students to meet those expectations. I am looking forward to a great year.
