Welcome!  My name is Katie Cavazos.  This is my 22nd year teaching kindergarten, 14 years at Calallen East.  I love teaching!  Kindergarten is where it all begins.

Snacks

Make sure to check your child’s binder for the monthly snack calendar. We have snack each day. The first ingredient of the snack cannot be sugar. We prefer individually wrapped snacks. If you send snack that requires utensils, please provide enough for the entire class. 

Birthday snacks

This is not a party. You may bring cupcakes or a special snack for your child’s birthday. If your child’s birthday is on the weekend, your birthday snack day will either be the Friday before or the Monday after.

Arrival:

The school doors open at 7:25 for breakfast or your child can go to the activity room. Classroom doors open at 7:45.

Class starts at 7:55.

Lunch

Our class eats lunch from 10:30-11:00.

You are welcome to come eat lunch with your child, no more than 2 times a week. You must sign in the office and get a visitor pass. 

Please check your child’s lunch account to ensure money is available. You may access their lunch account through the district website on the parent page.

There will not be a microwave available for students to heat food brought from home.  

Dismissal:

The dismissal bell rings at 3:05. Please wait in one of the designated pick up areas for your child.   If you need to pick up your child early, please check them out through the office.
